Awards season 2026 reaches its thrilling finale this weekend, with this year’s Academy Awards (Sunday 15 March). If you’ve not kept up with the biggest releases of 2025, fear not: Showroom Cinema has you covered.

The Japan Foundation Touring Film Programme 2026 returns to Showroom Cinema with a fantastic line-up of captivating films from Monday 16 February – Thursday 25 March.

We are celebrating LGBTQ+ History Month 2026 at Showroom with a magical season of LGBTQ+ storytelling, balancing the reality of queer experience with fantastical escapism. 

Audiences can expect comfortable sound levels for little ones, dedicated storage space for pushchairs and the chance to meet other grown ups in the same boat. 

Showroom Cinema works with the BFI and partners to offer young people chances to learn about filmmaking, programming, marketing and distribution through regular residential programmes throughout the year. 

The Yorkshire consortium for the BFI Film Academy Short Course Programme has been awarded  £91,500 from the BFI to support the next generation of filmmakers across the region.
