Families at Showroom this Week: Folk tales and tabby cats

Showroom’s summer of savings continues, with an all-singing take on Little Red Riding Hood and a wonderfully animated tale from Julia Donaldson. Here’s this week’s films for children and families.

This week on Family Time, enjoy the Royal Ballet & Opera production of Wolf Witch Giant Fairy. An enchantingly staged folk opera, this take on the story of Red Riding Hood is packed with twists, turns, magic and song. See it on Saturday 4 July at 11.00.

Over the summer, our Toddler Kino strand will run once a week, offering a great first cinema experience for ages 1–4. On Monday 6 July at 11.15am enjoy Tabby McTat, about a singing London tabby cat and his busker friend Fred. This beautiful, animated adventure is based on the book written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler.

Showroom screens Family Time and Toddler Kino films in a relaxed setting, with low-level lighting and Hard of Hearing subtitles where possible. Enjoy 10% off food and 20% off hot drinks in our Café Bar with your ticket, perfect for a post-screening snack.

We’ve also dropped prices as part of Great British Summer Savings, with children’s tickets just £4.50 for Family Time tickets, and £3.50 for Toddler Kino. Family group tickets are also cheaper for our regular screenings, at £13 for one adult and one child or £21.50 for two adults and two children, until 1 September 2026.

Finally in Baby Kino, The Invite, a terrific couples comedy directed by Olivia Wilde (Booksmart, Don’t Worry Darling). She stars alongside Seth Rogen as a couple on the rocks. When their upstairs neighbours (Edward Norton and Penélope Cruz) proposition the pair at a dinner party, it could be the spark that reignites their marriage... or burns it down.

See The Invite as part of Baby Kino on Monday 6 July at 12.15. Designed for new parents, each ticket includes a complimentary hot drink and plenty of pram parking.
