Families at Showroom this Week: Young Adventurers Shorts and Spielberg's Latest Release

Enjoy outback adventure, see the latest Spielberg sci-fi in a relaxed, baby-friendly screening and enjoy family ticket savings, all summer long at Showroom Cinema. Here’s what’s on screens this week for children and families.

This Saturday 20 June, Family Time partners with Sheffield Adventure Film Festival to present inspirational short films, centred around young people. Enjoy 10 short films, from the beautiful Aquaballet, where underwater photographer Alex and dancer Marianne work with the marine wildlife of French Polynesia to create their work; to the empowering Annika – Where She Lands, following U.S. Nordic Combined athlete Annika Malacinski as she campaigns to open an Olympic women’s division for the sport.

Our Family Time strand screens every Saturday at 11am. Enjoy films suitable for ages 5+ for in a relaxed setting, with low-level lighting and Hard of Hearing subtitles where possible.

These screenings are cheaper than ever, at just £4.37 a ticket as part of the government’s Great British Summer Savings scheme. We also drop prices on Toddler Kino (now £3.50 a ticket) and family group tickets - £12.50 for one adult and one child, or £26.13 for two adults and two children – until 1 September 2026.

Our Baby Kino strand is the space for new parents to catch the latest releases without needing a babysitter. Running each Monday at 12.15, they include pram parking and a complimentary hot drink with each ticket.

On Monday 22 June, Baby Kino screens Disclosure Day, a sci-fi thriller directed by Steven Spielberg and written by David Koepp, whose previous screenwriting credits with Spielberg include Jurassic Park and War of the Worlds.

The film poses a simple but dizzying question: if someone proved to you that we weren't alone in the universe, would that frighten you? Starring Emily Blunt, Josh O'Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson and Colman Domingo, it's a starry, suspenseful addition to the summer programme.

Disclosure Day screens on Monday 22 June, ahead of Family Time on Saturday 27 June.

Children attending Family Time and Baby Kino can also enjoy a small drink and popcorn combo for just £4.50, while adults can save 10% off their food bill in the café bar when they present their ticket.
