Families at Showroom this Week: Sea Witches, Cereal Killers and Austen Adaptation

Family Time makes a splash on Saturday 26 September at 11am with the Disney classic The Little Mermaid (U). Rebellious young mermaid Ariel dreams of life on land, and when she falls for a human prince she strikes a dangerous bargain with the sea witch Ursula to become human for just three days. But when plans go awry for the star-crossed pair, her father King Triton must make the ultimate sacrifice. This much-loved 1989 favourite is followed by a special mermaid meet and greet.

Family Time runs every Saturday at 11am with films for ages 5+, in a relaxed setting with softened lighting and Hard of Hearing subtitles where possible. All tickets are £4.99, little ones can grab a drink and popcorn combo for £4.50, and grown-ups get 10% off café bar food with their ticket.

On Monday 28 September at 11.15am, Toddler Kino serves up A Matter of Loaf and Death (PG). Wallace and Gromit have opened a new bakery, Top Bun, just as a deadly murderer begins picking off the town's bakers one by one. Wallace couldn't care less, having fallen head over heels for Piella Bakewell, former star of the Bake-O-Lite bread commercials. But can Gromit unmask the Cereal Killer before his master becomes the next victim? Pitched at 1–4s, Toddler Kino gently introduces the youngest to the big screen. All tickets just £3.99.

Baby Kino follows at 12.15pm with Sense and Sensibility (U), exclusively for parents or guardians accompanying babies under one year old. This fresh new take on Jane Austen's beloved novel follows sisters Elinor and Marianne Dashwood as they navigate love, loss and financial uncertainty amid the social expectations of 18th-century England, with Daisy Edgar-Jones among the cast. Baby Kino welcomes parents and new babies every Monday, with pram parking, a free hot drink and 10% off café bar food.

And there is still time to catch Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom, which continues on general release. On Halloween Eve the clumsy Farmer trashes the flock's beloved pumpkin patch, and when Shaun turns mad scientist to fix it, things quickly spiral into a monstrously fun family adventure, with a wild beast roaming the woods of Mossingham.
