Families at Showroom this Week: A Magical Tree, Bluey’s Big-Screen Playdates and Toy Story 5

Enid Blyton’s classic, everyone’s favourite blue heeler and the latest in the Toy Story saga, there’s plenty for children and families at Showroom this week.

On Family Time this Saturday, climb the branches of The Magic Faraway Tree. Polly (Claire Foy), Tim (Andrew Garfield) and their three children are a modern family uprooted to the remote English countryside, where they find a magical tree and its eccentric residents, among them Moonface (Nonso Anozie) and Silky (Nicola Coughlan). At the top wait fantastical lands and a family rediscovering one another. Catch it on Saturday 25 July at 11.00am. This Family Time screening is part of Myths and Magic, supported by the East Midlands Railway Community Fund.

For younger film fans, Toddler Kino continues weekly through the summer, giving ages 1-4 a perfect first taste of cinema. On Monday 27 July at 10.45am, settle in for Bluey at the Cinema: Playdates with Friends Collection, an hour of eight favourite episodes across all three series, celebrating play, imagination, friendship and family.

Both Family Time and Toddler Kino screenings take place in a relaxed setting, with low-level lighting and hard-of-hearing subtitles where possible. Show your ticket in our Café Bar for 10% off food and 20% off hot drinks.

It’s all part of Great British Summer Savings: children’s tickets are £4.50 for Family Time and £3.50 for Toddler Kino. For general releases, families can save with group tickets: £13 for one adult and one child, or £21.50 for two adults and two children, until 1 September 2026. Toy Story 5 brings the original gang face-to-face with a new kind of toy from Friday 24 July. With Woody having moved on, Jessie now leads the room with Buzz Lightyear as her second-in-command, though their status as eight-year-old Bonnie’s favourites is threatened by Lilypad, a high-tech tablet that could make traditional toys obsolete. On Monday 27 July at 12.15pm, we show a Baby Kino screening of Toy Story 5 (PG). Starting at the advertised time with a small selection of trailers, Baby Kino is exclusively for parents and guardians with babies under one, and each ticket includes a free tea or coffee and 10% off food in our Café Bar.
