Families at Showroom this Week: Beasts, Bears and a Whistleblower

Family Time casts its spell on Saturday 10 October at 11am with Beauty and the Beast, billed as the most beautiful love story ever told. Bright young Belle finds herself in the castle of a prince who has been turned into a mysterious beast, and with a little help from the castle’s enchanted staff she soon learns the most important lesson of all: that true beauty comes from within. The screening is followed by a special princess meet and greet.

Family Time runs every Saturday at 11am with films for ages 5+, in a relaxed setting with softened lighting and Hard of Hearing subtitles where possible. All tickets are £4.99, little ones can grab a drink and popcorn combo for £4.50, and grown-ups get 10% off café bar food with their ticket.

On Monday 12 October at 10.45am, Toddler Kino presents a double bill of We’re Going on a Bear Hunt and The Tiger Who Came to Tea. Beautifully hand-animated by Lupus Films, the team behind The Snowman and The Snowdog, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt is a heartwarming tale of perseverance, optimism and a love of nature. Then a mysterious tiger turns up unannounced and invites himself in for afternoon tea, and young Sophie and her mummy watch in fascination as he works his way through not only their tea but the entire contents of the fridge and everything else in the house! Pitched at 1–4s, Toddler Kino gently introduces the youngest to the big screen. All tickets just £3.99.

Baby Kino follows at 12.15pm with The Social Reckoning, exclusively for parents or guardians accompanying babies under one year old. Inspired by true events, Aaron Sorkin’s original screenplay is a companion piece to The Social Network and a true David and Goliath story. Young Facebook engineer Frances Haugen (Oscar winner Mikey Madison) enlists the help of Wall Street Journal reporter Jeff Horwitz (Emmy winner Jeremy Allen White) on a dangerous journey that ends with her blowing the whistle on the social network’s most closely guarded secrets, with Oscar nominee Jeremy Strong as Mark Zuckerberg. Baby Kino welcomes parents and new babies every Monday, with pram parking, a free hot drink and 10% off café bar food.
