Families at Showroom Cinema this week: Bluey, Zootropolis 2 and a Family-Friendly Screening of Ian McKellen’s Latest Release

This week, Showroom Cinema's family programme includes everyone’s favourite Australian Blue Heeler puppy, a return to the city of Zootropolis, and a dedicated baby-parent screening of a smart comedy-drama.

This Saturday, Family Time screens the sequel to Disney’s 2016 hit Zootropolis. The crime-fighting odd couple of bunny Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) and fox Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman) reunite in Zootropolis 2 on 16 May.

This time, the duo investigates the twisting trail of a mysterious reptile, whose arrival in Zootropolis turns the mammal megacity upside down. Look out for a cameo from Ed Sheeran as ‘Ed Shearin’ the sheep.

Family Time screenings every Saturday at 11am are a great opportunity for an affordable day out with the kids. These relaxed weekly screenings of family favourites include low-level lighting and (where possible) Hard of Hearing subtitles. All tickets are £6, making it an accessible treat for the whole family.

On Monday 18 May at 10.45am, we have eight joyful episodes of Bluey for Toddler Kino. Perfect for children aged 1–4 years old, the compilation brings together some of Bluey’s most beloved games, including Shadowlands and Octopus. The relaxed screening has an affordable ticket price of £3.99 and includes a pram park.

We also offer a weekly relaxed screening with a pram park specifically for new parents in Baby Kino. Director Steven Soderbergh (Ocean’s Eleven) and writer Ed Solomon (Now You See Me) - two heist masterminds - return for their fourth joint project: The Christophers, at 12.15 on Monday 18 May.

Ian McKellen stars as Julian Sklar, a genius artist who found fame in the 60s. Now, broke and disgraced, he is the target of his two estranged and talentless children. They hire former forger Lori (Michaela Coel) to work as Sklar’s assistant and secretly finish his unfinished masterpieces to sell them after his death.

In addition to these dedicated screenings, don’t miss Hugh Jackman’s hilarious farmyard-sleuth The Sheep Detectives. Why not take advantage of one of our family ticket options? Adult and child for £15, or a family of four for £27.50. Families attending Toddler Kino and Family Time can take advantage of discounts in the Café Bar.
