Have you ever wanted to programme events for Showroom Cinema? Do you have a love of viral videos and online content?

We're looking for Young Programmers aged 16 to 25 and based in South Yorkshire to help us curate a night of videos for 'Chronically Online: A Personal History of the UK Internet'.

About the event you will be programming: Chronically Online: A Personal History of the UK Internet

Hosted by the Creative Nonfiction Film Weekend, this one-off screening package of viral videos will show at Showroom Cinema on 29 September.

Past Chronically Online events in other cities have included videos like 'Charlie Bit My Finger' and 'I Can't Believe You've Done This', with the stars from both appearing as Q&A panellists.

About the Opportunity

This is a voluntary opportunity. To help curate the event, we ask the young programmers to attend six mentoring and programming sessions led by the CNFW and Showroom Programming teams. Sessions take place on Wednesday evenings throughout August and September, and will be a blend of in-person meetings at Showroom Cinema, Sheffield, and online sessions (this split will be roughly 50/50).

Who can apply?

This opportunity is for people in South Yorkshire aged 16-25 years old. You don't need any programming experience for this one, just enthusiasm, fresh ideas, and a commitment to attending the meetings.
