Chronically Online: A Personal History of the UK Internet + Q&A

15*

The Creative Nonfiction Film Weekend's (CNFW) one-night-only touring programme of digital delights on the big screen showcases the stories Britain tells about itself through the internet.

Touring Liverpool, Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield, and Lewes, this programme of vlogs, memes, and uncategorisable curiosities will never be the same twice — as unpredictable as a social media scroll.

CNFW have gathered a group of chronically online curators in each city to lead us down their own favourite rabbit holes, shaping the programme around their own sense of local identity. For this screening, they’re teaming up with Showroom to gather a group of young film programmers to provide their own perspective on the online world.

Soon to be announced, we’ll also be joined by an online video creator for a special Q&A. Past guests include Paul Weedon (of "I can't believe you've done this" fame) and Harry Davies-Carr, the boy who was bitten in “Charlie Bit My Finger”.

Chronically Online: A Personal History of the UK Internet is part of Rip it Up, the BFI Film Audience Network’s UK-wide film season exploring and celebrating the changing face of youth rebellion, culture and expression, made possible by National Lottery funding.

In collaboration with Showroom’s young film programmers.
