They say you never forget a good teacher, but it’s the bad ones who are truly unforgettable...

Inspired by the new dark comedy Bad Apples starring Saoirse Ronan, this September Classics goes back to school to some of the most memorable teacher/student conflicts in cinema history.

The season swings between the truly heart-breaking impacts of school gossip in early queer drama The Children’s Hour starring Audrey Hepburn and Shirley MacLaine, to the raucous chaos of the Ramones-loving punks of Rock n Roll High School.

We’ll also witness an iconic turn by Bill Murray in Wes Anderson’s Rushmore – who finds himself fighting for the same woman as his obnoxious pupil, Max Fischer. Robin Williams plays a stand-out teacher stuck in a school system that won’t let his pupils flourish, in the much loved Dead Poets Society.
