A confined but troubled rock star descends into madness as he physically and socially isolates himself from everyone. Directed by Alan Parker and based on Pink Floyd's 1979 studio album The Wall, the film’s screenplay was written by Pink Floyd vocalist and bassist Roger Waters.
The Boomtown Rats' lead vocalist Bob Geldof made his acting debut as a rock star, Pink. Featuring animation sequences by the legendary cartoonist, illustrator and designer Gerald Scarfe, who went on to design the animation for The Wall stage show.
