"I first watched Les Choristes in French lessons at secondary school and absolutely loved it, although I’m sure watching a film was also a very welcome break from actual French lessons! I lived in Brussels when I was younger, where I had French lessons every day.
It’s one of those films that has just stuck with me ever since. Unsurprisingly, considering I ended up becoming a music teacher, I love that it’s essentially a film about how brilliant making music together can be, and what it can bring out in people when someone actually gives them the chance. It’s funny, warm, a little bit heartbreaking, and the music is gorgeous. Plus, 'Vois sur ton chemin' has been living rent-free in my head since approximately Year 9, so it feels only right to inflict it on everyone else on the big screen."
