The 90-minute documentary was produced over three years and is a collaboration between Greenpeace, Ekspedisi Indonesia Baru, Ubi, Yayasan Pusaka Bentala Rakyat, Lembaga Bantuan Hukum Papua Merauke, and Watchdoc Documentary.

Directed by Dandhy Dwi Laksono and Cypri Jehan Paju, the film chronicles logging, militarism, and Indigenous Papuan resistance to the Indonesian government’s food estate project in Papua. It offers a powerful insight into the struggle to protect ancestral lands, forests, communities and ways of life in the face of extractive development and colonial violence.

After the screening, there will be a chaired Q&A with Indigenous Human Rights Defenders from West Papua. This will be a rare opportunity to hear directly from people working to defend land, life and justice in one of the world’s most under-reported struggles.
