Director Gale Edwards stages Verdi’s monumental opera against the spectacular backdrop of Sydney Harbour, starring Latonia Moore and Milijana Nikolic in a lavish open-air production complete with camels and fireworks.
Designer Mark Thompson creates a visually arresting world featuring a massive, rotating statue of Queen Nefertiti and sumptuously lavish, colour-drenched costumes. Latonia Moore stars as the passionate Ethiopian princess Aida, alongside Milijana Nikolic as her bitter rival, Amneris, and David Parkin as the high priest Ramfis.
Under the baton of Maestro Brian Castles-Onion, the augmented orchestra delivers a powerful rendering of the legendary score, making this open-air cinematic experience the ultimate entry point for newcomers and opera lovers alike.
