Family Time: Shorts for Families 2026 [+ Free Animation Activity]

PG F

This collection of short films from France, Portugal, Germany, Czech Republic and the UK, present stories that are perfectly suited for children aged 7 and above. Using a wide range of animation techniques, these films explore the different ways curiosity drives our characters forward, learning something about themselves and the world around them: a little girl discovers the universe outside of her phone screen, a robot bee working on a hive on Mars finds out the strange powers of an odd plant, Lola finds a powerful way to communicate with her neurodiverse brother through a hand-made sound piano, a child accompanied by an otter-like creature sets out to find a cure for water shortage, and a mischievous little wolf with an inky nose will get everyone involved in a messy, playful way of life.

Activity: Drop-in the Showroom Cafe Bar before and after the films to make simple stop motion animations using pen, paper, and your phone! Bring your own phone with space for the free 'Animade Frames' app.

Start Time: This screening will start at the advertised time. There are no adverts, though a small selection of trailers may play before the film.

Family Time

Family Time screenings are relaxed and feature Hard of Hearing subtitles (where possible) and low-level lighting for accessibility and comfort for all. All tickets are £4.99. Films including Hard of Hearing Subtitles include the 'S' badge.
