Poets Yield Power host a creative expression workshop, combining spoken word and visual art.
Be guided through accessible spoken word and writing exercises before translating your words into visual artworks using paint and mixed media. Paint Your Poetry removes barriers between art forms and encourages young people to express themselves in whatever way feels most natural.
Respond to creative prompts exploring identity, place, memory and imagination; develop a short original poem, and experiment with colour, texture and symbolic imagery to create an original artwork of your own.Join us for an evening of self-expression and creativity as part of black history month celebrating young black creatives. You will get to experience two workshops combining creative writing and painting with the chance to take part in an open mic at the end to exhibit your work. You don't need to have any experience as there will be guidance on the day.
