Two Chinese-mainlanders in Hong Kong form a close friendship that blossoms into love, but life and circumstance keep them apart.
Xiaojun (Leon Lai), a country boy chasing his dreams, struggles to adjust to city life until he meets Qiao (Maggie Cheung), a savvy city woman who teaches him the ways of the metropolis. Their bond deepens, but unspoken desires and choices test the limits of their connection.
