LGBTQ+ History Month 2026: Telling Stories – Fantasy and Reality
Running Date: Throughout Feb
This year's LGBTQ+ History Month features a range of new releases, classic films, and special events which explore experiences of queer life past and present, alongside fantastical escapes from the everyday. This season is inspired by the rich queer history of storytelling as a tool to both document and divert from reality.
Balancing the real lives of LGBTQ+ communities with queer myths and magic, Telling Stories showcases everything from documentary to animation. The season features lesbians in Yorkshire, gay romance on the streets of Brazil, and the lives of trans women in 1960s Japan - placed alongside fairytale love triangles, bisexual vampires, and lesbian space princesses.
