'We chose this film due to its themes of motherhood, violence and trauma, as well as persistent and intentional usage of the colour red to reflect these themes. Lynne Ramsey’s harrowing film perfectly highlights the dark side of relationships between mother and child, resulting in this disturbing feature.
Together, these films explore the perspectives of both mother and child, abuser and abused. Combined, we aim to demonstrate the significance colour usage can have within a film, sticking to a singular colour to show how differently the colour red can be used to create meaning.' - Ayo, Young Programmer
