Young Programmers Festival: Carrie [50th Anniversary]

15
'This adaptation of Stephen King’s famous novel is a classic horror, known particularly for its iconic shot of Carrie’s blood-soaked prom dress. The usage of blood imagery, and the colour red overall, to represent femininity, menstruation and motherhood fit the theme of our festival superbly.
Together, these films explore the perspectives of both mother and child, abuser and abused. Combined, we aim to demonstrate the significance colour usage can have within a film, sticking to a singular colour to show how differently the colour red can be used to create meaning.' - Ayo, Young Programmer

A girl unleashes her telekinetic powers after being humiliated by her classmates at her senior prom. Sissy Spacek stars in Brian De Palma's iconic horror classic.
