“I do not think of you as a man and I do not think of you as a woman, I think of you as an angel.”
To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything! Julie Newmar is the unlikely heroic roadtrip story starring three even more unlikely nineties stars. Vida, Noxeema, and Chi-Chi, three New York City drag queens road trip to Los Angeles for the most important pageant of the year, putting their queerness on full display for the middle-of-nowhere rednecks they encounter on the way. To Wong Foo sheds comedy and light on a survival mission, as our beloved characters overcome, outshine, and rise above in the name of queer joy.
To Wong Foo is the joining hands of the queer community and women alike, queens unite!
Showing as a part of this year's Young Programmers specially curated Pride season, Good for Them! We’re celebrating some of our favourite members of the LGBTQ+ community, and a group who know what it is to celebrate queer joy; drag queens! Join us for a shared evening of laughter and community as we watch these angels find their family, and bask in the shared joy of queer laughter.
It’s good for them, and good for you too!
This screening will not feature ads or trailers, but will begin with an introduction by the Young Programmers, and a screening of the short film Curmudgeons directed by Danny DeVito. Due to moderate bad language in this short, we advise this screening as a 12A.
