In Wes Anderson's first feature film, Anthony (Luke Wilson) has just been released from a mental hospital, only to find his wacky friend Dignan (Owen Wilson) determined to begin an outrageous crime spree. After recruiting their neighbour, Bob (Robert Musgrave), the team embarks on a road trip in search of Dignan's previous boss, Mr. Henry (James Caan). But the more they learn, the more they realize that they do not know the first thing about crime.
Newcomer Owen Wilson, in a star-making performance, co-wrote the screenplay that also co-stars Luke Wilson and Bob Musgrave in their film debuts. It launched Wes Anderson as a director and was the formation of cinematic collaborations that have delighted cinemagoers for decades.
Westival 2025 is Showroom Cinema's full retrospective of the director’s cinematic works across two all-day events on 4 and 18 May. All tickets £6.
