This year for Family Time, we are taking a series of suggestions from Showroom staff for their favourite family-friendly films from their childhoods. This week Customer Service Assistant and Showroom Pub Quiz Host, Max, selects Toy Story 2 – following on from our nostalgic VHS screening of the original film last year.
Considered by many to be the best film in the series, Toy Story 2 takes our friends Woody and Buzz on another adventure, introducing new friends Jessie and Bullseye who help them to escape the clutches of Al, the greedy toy collector behind Al’s Toy Barn.
As with the rest of the series, Toy Story 2 mixes comedy, action, and emotion for all ages, breaking the grown-ups’ hearts with touching moments like Jessie’s song When She Loved Me.
Toy Story is rated U, though it contains very mild violence and threat. For fans of Toy Story, Toy Story 3, and Toy Story 4.
Max says: “One of the first films I saw as a kid, rewatched a million times and it still holds up today.”
Family Time screenings are relaxed and feature subtitles and low-level lighting for accessibility and comfort for all. All tickets are £6.
