Share one of the most magical cinematic experiences of all time at Family Time!
When Dorothy Gale (Judy Garland) and her dog Toto are caught in a tornado and transported from their drab home in Kansas to the technicolour world of Oz, they must find their way home whilst dealing with unusual challenges on the road. She meets witches, talking scarecrows, and flying monkeys. Some become her friends, and they venture forth to meet the Wizard who may return everything back to normal…
The classic musical is considered to be one of the most important films in cinema history, and its brilliant, fantastical world still impresses almost 90 years on – especially on the big screen.
The BFI listed the film in the top ten “films to see by age 15”. It also inspired the colourful, handmade world of Greta Gerwig’s 2023 hit, Barbie, and served as the inspiration for the hit musical prequel, Wicked. See it ahead of Wicked Part 2!
The Wizard of Oz is rated U, though it contains mild fantasy threat and scary sequences. For fans of Alice in Wonderland, Mary Poppins, and Barbie.
F-Rating: Co-written by Florence Ryerson and starring Judy Garland
