A Touch of Black Health opens Black Health Month in Sheffield with an evening of connection, creativity, and celebration. This community-led event explores the full spectrum of Black health—physical, mental, financial, environmental, and social—through lived experience and collective wisdom.
The night will bring together Black-led organisations, advocates, artists, and community members in a vibrant space filled with stalls, roundtables, and conversations. Guests will hear from our partners, enjoy live music, and take part in networking that highlights the power of collaboration and community care.
A special screening of Mike Leigh’s new film, Hard Truths (2024), anchors the evening, offering space for reflection and dialogue. Closing words from partner organisations will carry forward the spirit of healing, education, and joy.
Free and open to all, this event is a celebration of resilience, shared stories, and the many ways Black health thrives in Sheffield.
Partners include the University of Sheffield, Clarity+, SACHMA, Zest OF: You, VAS New Beginning, Cultural Appropriate Resources, Sheffield Memory Hub, Sickle Cell Society, Trim and Talk Podcast, SOS for Sudan, Sheffield Hallam University, You and Me_Nopause, and Groundation UK.
