But Cher, who lives with her tough yet warm-hearted lawyer dad (Dan Hedaya) and pretentious but sensitive ex-stepbrother (Paul Rudd), also has an innate urge to help those less fortunate, through romantic matchmaking and head-to-toe makeovers.
